We are ACE EAGLES! Active Creative Enthusiastic Effort Acceptance Generosity Loyalty Enthusiasm Self-respect Nespelem School Mission states we will "enable a child to be a thinking, caring, productive person using high academic standards in a positive environment." Hello students! Welcome to your school! Make it the best experience possible by being the best you can be! What does that mean? Please take the time to read a section of this page each time you arrive at this site. ACE Eagles are PAX Leaders! PAX means peace, productivity, health, and happiness. ActiveWe exude an active attitude that says, "We can do it!" Whether "it" is a report, a basket, a pin, an essay, a math problem, a science lab, a reading project, or a test, we approach the responsibility with a positive plan to succeed. Michael Jordan reminds us, "You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them." That's why we expect to succeed. Michael also tells us, "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed....If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it...Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." And that's what we do: Figure out how to make our plans happen. CreativeIn all our efforts, our own work and our work with others, be it sports, clubs, academics, we figure out how to make our plans happen creatively and positively. Again, Michael Jordan helps us out, "Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation." Like the axiom says, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." How else could I act? solve the problem? write the words? ask for help? change the focus? We can only change ourselves, not another person. Our responsibility is to be the best person we can be, no matter the situation. So in all our work, talk, and play, each person is creative in communicating solutions to succeed. What can you say or do in an overly positive way to change the focus or solve the problem? What do you need to do to get all your assignments done? to be the best at the new play from your coach? to defuse someone who is upset? How will you turn a negative into a positive? How creative at communications and problem-solving are you? "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships," explains Michael Jordan. We are the Nespelem School Eagle team -- we create solutions together in our teams, groups. clubs, and classrooms. We collaborate with creative solutions to win as a school. EnthusiasticA young, successful entrepreneur, Bo Bennett, shares an important point about enthusiasm: "Being enthusiastic about something is very much like being inspired by
a supreme being. One gets excited about going on a roller coaster. One
becomes enthusiastic about building a roller coaster. Enthusiasm is
excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity." Active attitudes, creative communication, and enthusiastic empowerment leads to success. Bo Bennett explains further, "Enthusiasm will empower you to do just about anything you want, but most of all it will help you do it exceptionally well... Those around you easily detect this enthusiasm. When another finds you enthusiastic about something, it is difficult for that person not to share some of your enthusiasm. Be enthusiastic about what you do, and share that by encouraging others. That's what helped Sam McCracken (Sioux/Assiniboine), Manager of Nike’s Native American Business, create that successful program. He was active, creative, and enthusiastic! Think what you could do and be! ACE EAGLES are successful leaders! Let's "Just do it!"* In 2007-2008, grade eight students were asked to explain what being "EAGLES" meant. After two weeks of research, discussion, and drafting, these are the words that class deemed as most representative of EAGLES. How are you like "EAGLES"? |
